The Woodwick House

The historic Woodwick House provides your bed, full breakfast and 3 course "Taste of Scotland" dinner. Woodwick House is situated on 12 acres of land offering an idyllic surrounding to paint, write, discover, learn, or reflect in and be inspired by. It is rated by the Rough Guides as "…The most enchanting place to stay on Orkney!"

Walking along the hallways lined with local artist’s work, you will come upstairs to the sky lit public room. This is our working studio space for the week. Instruction and critique is provided daily for 4 hours and includes a coffee/tea break. Lunch is available if booked that morning. Access to the studio is available 24 hours!

Woodwick House may inspire you to use your free time to individually pursue your interests or to walk to the well-preserved Broch of Gurness and a sandy beach. A 15-minute walk brings you to the ferry slip to the neighboring islands of Egilsay, Wyre, and Rousay offering different environments to photograph and interpret. Or you may have found the easy walk alongside the wooded streamside from Woodwick House, through the "Fairy Glen" overhung with fuschia, down to Eynhallow Sound and a waiting seal, inspiration enough!

The warmth of open fireplaces and candlelit dinners will end your day’s work within Woodwick House. Additional charges for the optional lunch and drinks will be billed individually at the end of your stay. For more info:
